The cost of courses vary depending on the attendance pattern, level of course etc. Full-time courses are generally free, part-time fees and Higher Education fees are in the prospectus and overseas students should contact the College in the first instance to discuss their individual circumstances.
This is dependent on your personal circumstances. Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) may be claimed by students aged 16, 17 and 18 and the amount is calculated against parental income. There are other funds available to help students such as Assembly Learning Grants (ALGs), and Learning Support Fund (LSF). Advice on the above can be obtained from Learner Services, please call: 01639 648404
The payment of fees by instalments depends on the total cost of the course. This can be discussed with the College Finance Manager.
The College offers a vast range of courses and generally syllabuses are not available on a specific basis. However during the College information and open evenings the syllabus can be discussed with individual tutors. If the times of these events are not convenient, personal appointments may be made.
The type and level of course you choose will determine whether end-of-course examinations are undertaken. Details of assessment requirements can be obtained from the College prospectus or course co-ordinators.
The College works closely with Careers Wales West. Students may drop in to the Learner Services at either Neath and Afan Campuses to seek careers advice or make an appointment to suit their needs.
The College takes seriously the need on making its facilities accessible and welcoming to students with disabilities of all kinds. Our commitment to the disabled can be found in our Disability Statement.
Certain courses require personal equipment, such as Catering; Hair and Beauty; and Engineering. Details of the requirements are available on request or when offered a place on the course.
There is a nursery located on the Neath, Afan and Coleg Pontardawe campuses, which are available to staff, students and the local community. The nurseries care for two age groups – 12 weeks to two years and two years to seven years.
